November - National Disease Awareness Month & National Family Caregiver’s Month
Memory Matters, in partnership with the Alzheimer’s Association, is asking local churches and its members to be a part of this national campaign to raise awareness of the disease and the families who are providing care.
We are asking you and your congregation to participate in this awareness month by doing 3 simple things:
1. Ask for a 66-second moment of silence. Every 66 seconds a person is diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, the 6th leading cause of death in the U.S.
2. Offer Prayers of Comfort for caregivers and those living with Alzheimer’s. Sample prayers supplied for your consideration.
3. Display “You Are Not Alone” flyers in common areas in your church.
